Caption: I first saw these engines going through Redwater cabhop with caboose 79669 at 10:30. There was a purpose of sending out 2 light GMD-1's today. Just 2 days earlier, I had watched a huge string of empty CN hoppers, headed for Edmonton, pass through Redwater (powered by GP38's). The hoppers were stored on the abandoned portion of the Lac La Biche Sub., which is accessed at Egremont. To now reach the remaining hoppers, ten hundreds will be needed on the old light rail. Here is the crew at 12:30, a few miles west of Redwater, with the last 65 CN hoppers en-route to Edmonton. It was a big looking train for 2 1000's, but 65 roller bearing empties shouldn't be much of a task. That is the 1079, ex NAR 302 Chief MoosToos, in behind. The new CN paint job still looking pretty fresh.
