Caption: Ontario Northland 528, a Jordan spreader, is pictured stored at Cochrane between two boxcars. According to the Canadian Trackside Guide, it was built by the O.F. Jordan Company in 1945 as a Type A spreader, serial number 795. Jordan spreaders are handy for both plowing sidings and yards during the snowier seasons, and spreading ballast and cutting ditches during the warmer months.
