The very fact that VIA #71 was late this particular morning gave me a chance image that was a bit out of the ordinary. From my location on Dundas Peak I was watching the progress of #70, with two units up front, (coming from top to bottom in photo) and almost didn't see #71 entering the picture heading west.
Too far up to catch unit numbers though. The landscape sure looks drab with no snow and a very early sun, as this image was shot around 0910 hrs.
But a neat catch.
These days, in the name of "progress", hanging out at the Peak is not the same as it was. What was once a free hike any old time now revolves around giving money to enjoy..............and it might be noted very few are contributing photos taken from this location as of late.

  1. Sad, but true. My thought is that as a TAX PAYER I have ALREADY contributed to the creation/maintenance of municipal venues. Funny, don’t recall reading of any exemptions in my very detailed tax invoice statements! I wonder who will be first to take up a contemporary ‘Peak’ challenge?

  2. I agree with you 100%. You should not have to pay for what you already paid for. A good sneaky example is Spencer Smith Park. Oh, it is still free, but try finding a place to park that doesn’t cost you that is within a half mile of the place. It is all about the wallet.
    Tax the tax.

  3. Stark landscape, for sure. And 70 has 2 F40′s no less !!
In the “old times” this would be Naked Landscape, but that too has other connotations, har har
