I am posting this shot not for the noteworthiness of the power, but rather for the fact that it ties several recent posts on this site together. The day in Port Rob started out with five of the most ubiquitous GEs as the power for the day's trains based out of there. 422 would depart with two of them instead of a more typical three (sorry, no link for this one), 331 would head out with one instead of a more typical two (shown here in St. Catharines), and pictured here, CN 538 is coming across the International Bridge onto Track 99 in Fort Erie with two Tier 4s and 134 cars in tow. I would shoot CP 246 passing in the opposite direction minutes later (link here) as 538 set off 69 racks in Track 99. And later that night, I would come across the power set of this 538 again, this time running as 563 in Port Colborne (link here). The following day, Mark MacCauley shot CP 255 passing CN 232 (link here), which had lifted the racks that 538 had set off on Track 99, and would soon after be headed for Oakville.

  1. I should have noted in the caption that 538 typically comes across in the middle of the night. I believe this one to be a bit of an anomaly.

  2. I shot this lashup reversed on 330 beforehand too
