Caption: 1444 is pictured here leading the 0700 yard job back towards Stuart with a drag of new centrebeams and grain hoppers out of NSC. There was a chance they were going into Stelco this day, and 1444 would have been the one of the two in the position to lead out of there, but they ran out of time on their shift to fit that in. A disappointing outcome indeed, as seeing a GMD-1 in the Stelco property would have been a lot of fun. 1444's time in Hamilton was limited, having shown up some time around April 3, before encountering issues on May 4 and returning to Mac on May 5. Hopefully it comes back, but if not, I at least got a few decent shots of it from this day.
For those curious about the history of the bridge, Stephen Host offers some insights into its past in this shot of QGRY 2301 back in 2015.

I gotta admit you sure are making the rounds!
Nice grab. 4704 looks fairly fresh….no ??
Thanks guys. Yeah, 4704 has a pretty fresh looking coat of paint on it. Kevin Flood got a shot of it leading out of the hole at Simcoe Street http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=36889
