Former CN 9675, now sub-lettered NYC, is the fifth unit on 580 resting in the rain while the crew takes a lunch break. Could this be the first sign of a forthcoming merger between two Hunter Harrison legacy railroads? Will the GP40-2L(W), built new as GO 708, soon wear CSX blue/yellow? Oh the excitement!

  1. Having a slow week in the office ????

  2. NYC reporting marks? And still on CN tracks?..merger..more information please. ;)

  3. Hmmm merger unlikely. I wonder what CSX would want with tired GP40′s when they already have quite a few?

  4. Interesting. I’m going to have to check my photos because I saw 9675 on 435 the other day. It was also in the Kitchener pool for a while back in March-early April.

  5. Maybe CN’s version of an NYC Heritage unit…did they ever run this unit on the CASO?!
