Caption: Well, this train was a bit of an unexpected surprise. I waited until after 3pm to go out railfanning yesterday, despite the nice weather all day. Shortly after heading out, I got a message telling me that 331 was heading towards Hamilton, much to my surprise. For anyone who railfans the Grimsby Sub, you know that out of the freights that run it these days, only one typically cooperates with the sun - being 421 in the morning. The rest are typically backlit (422, 331, and 330) or come at night (555). Though I live in Hamilton, this was the first time I had gotten around to shooting a train from the footbridge near the Candy Factory, and I am pleased with the results. Trailing 8851 was 5414 with 73 cars in tow. They would work Stuart before continuing onward towards Sarnia.

Nice image and background James.
Now to get Stelco up & running with those 12 new annealing furnaces, increase rail traffic and take trucks off the roads.
Thank you, Bruce! And yes I think that’s something we’d all love to see.
All that garbage…. trashy.
It is actually cleaner than usual. A twister gone thru, perhaps? )
