My notes say train 925 if that makes sense. Definitely “Ham turn” or “London Pick - up”. The day was a typical dreary fall day but I couldn’t resist following any train with a MLW in the lead no matter if it was dead or alive. The fact that there were only two covered hoppers in tow from the OSR interchange leads me to believe this was most likely the “London Pick-up”. Nevertheless the train at this point was overpowered but eventually grabbed more tonnage as it headed west. I still like the vantage point off Highway 6 even today it’s just too bad you take your life in your hands shooting off that bridge.

    With no bell or horn on the cab roof, no engine noise, riding in those things might have been pretty okay. I wonder how warm they were at -30°.

    The bell is on the side behind the cab and horn is located on the roof further back. I’m sure the cab was a bit quieter with no prime mover behind but probably pretty drafty considering the units age.
