I used to think it was rare enough when I got some sunshine, and as you can see I wasn't going to have it for long. Bit of a cloudburst off in the distance adds flare of dramatics to this image of a westbound local coming in to Guelph Jct ., with CP 8142 and 8155 with a very short train. I miss those diminutive SW 1200s; they are all gone from CP roster now; 8142 left for the states in 1999 and 8155 retired, 2008.
At the time this image was shot in late 1988 the CP station still stood, a bit out of the photo to my left.

  1. Best little units for way freight service in my opinion, great visibility. The flexicoil trucks were a dream to ride around on jointed rail.

  2. This would be the stone train.Ran to the JCT and returned to Lambton yd.
