Back when the SD40's were plentiful on CP and almost as overdone as todays GE's the best catches on CP were the fleet of second hand SD40 numbered in the 5400's. For me the 5490's were the best catch as they were not always easy to find and usually had an interesting history. Train 167 this day had a former Southern Pacific SD45 on the point, while internally the unit was rebuilt into an SD40 it was still nice catching a rare SD45 body in the lead. The train is seen about to duck into Hunter Street tunnel and most likely to the CN Oakville subdivision as a short cut to CANPA yard before continuing onto Toronto.
