I had just gotten in my car to head out railfanning and heard 9780 get clearance from Park to Welland. I wondered about where to shoot it and was in fact strongly leaning towards just letting it go by without any effort to catch it at all - so much so that my next stop was Tim Hortons to grab breakfast instead of getting in position for a shot. I was headed over to Kinnear anyways to see what TH41 was up to, and realized as I got closer that the sun was at a pretty flattering angle for a shot I'd been thinking of for a while. I know CP gets a bad rap for the ubiquity of the power, but I don't mind them so much in the right context. The morning sunrise on 143 was a nice way to start the day.

  1. It’s a very short window of time you can shoot south-bounds here in March – very very short, gets better into June then worse again..

    nicely done

  2. Thanks Steve. I was glad I realized what I had on my hands sun-wise in time to get ready for a shot.
