Caption: On a snow-less day in January 1967, a CN freight heads through Welland on its way to Fort Erie. Between deliveries of new locomotives and repaints, the "1961 image" is now very common, although you could still occasionally catch units in the "old colours"...trains with three or four 4-axle units were quite common at that time, often intermixing RS18s with GP9s as well as GP40s and C-424s. (The SD40/C630 era had not yet arrived.)

Great picture Doug! The green & gold lasted until 1969 on our 1200 HP mainline NF110/210s in Newfoundland but some of the smaller branchline G-8s made it to at least late 1978.
