Caption: A photo such as this has my mind rocketing to the realization that I have made it to geezerdom. For TH&B 103 was a fixture in Gage Park by the Kinnear Yard for as long as I could remember in my youth, and I was rather shocked when doing a caption for this image that it was hauled out of that location over 40 years ago already. I had taken a few photos of it, but news that it was to be moved to Wentworth Pioneer Village meant the fence surrounding it was coming down, and it would be open for a nice shot. So, about two days before it was lifted by crane and trucked out I captured this image.
On the 18th of January 1977 it was hauled down Main St (the wrong way, no less!) in Hamilton via flatbed truck to the Claremont Access to Upper James to Hwy 52 and onto 8 and to the new site near Rockton. There, it would be free from all the damage caused by Hamilton vandals.
Wentworth Pioneer Village closed in the mid 1980s citing financial troubles. Fortunately the place was reborn as Westfield Heritage Village, and some dedicated volunteers restored the old steamer, an undertaking that was completed in 2005.
There, she still sits. The Village is quite the attraction, and old TH&B 103 awaits your visit.

Imagine if this was still in Hamilton gage park today? Thing would be stripped bare
