Rather rough old image of recent history this is, but it gives an idea of the Chatham St TH&B facilities behind a freight getting ready to move out. TH&B 72, 75, 73 and 402 constitute the power for a train coming out of Aberdeen Yard, which is in the far background below the "mountain". Background centre is the location of the TH&B shop and to the centre-left, the old coaling tower. This view is from 44 years ago. All gone now.

  1. Very nice Mr Mooney as always. So you would be standing on the station ‘platform’ would you been?

  2. Aberdeen ‘station’ is out of sight arund the corner in the background. What I was standing on to take this shot, I honestly forget. Maybe just terra firma.

  3. So round the corner to the left, you’re just farther down at the yard throat. The yard office I guess is more appropriate. This one I was alluding to: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4204518

  4. Brad: I am next to the Chatham St track overpass off Dundurn. The old enginehouse and shop area was accessed from Chatham St back then. Now, all the buildings have been razed. I am at least a half KM down from the Yard Office.
