    It appears that train must have encountered some heavy snow out east. We also see this quite often in SW Ontario when it’s cold and snowless but heavy snow where the train came from.

    Northeast even, yes. This train originates in Northern Quebec where there is lots of snow. Not any around here, but it’s still been very cold.
