Deal is to close by end of this year if goes all as planned, BUT, regulatory approvals won’t be finalized until sometime in the mid to late spring. To avoid breaking the law CP will hold CMQ ‘in trust’ to keep arms length until a final decision is made by US and Canadian regulators.
What does this mean for CMQ? In prior acquisitions, does anything change on the railway during the ‘in trust’ phase of the acquisition?
