Caption: Rather than today's SD70I; CN 5610 back in 1976 represented the last in number sequence of the GP38-2 (W) series. Here is that GP with what appears to be two sisters running eastbound past the old Aldershot Cold Storage landmark. Not often did I see cars in the siding, but it appears in this image it 5 of the 6 are reefers from Northern Refrigerator Car Company. The GP38-2(W) still toils on CN, but now as 4810 when the series was renumbered back in 1988. The cold storage building, constructed in the 1930s for use by farmers for storage and shipping, was knocked down about 10 years ago.
Photo taken from Waterdown Rd bridge, back when that road was relatively quiet.
