Caption: Darn sun got blotted out not long before anticipated arrival of this southbound. It figures. Typical mixture from the 1980s, with CP 5525, QNSL 205, CP 4560 and 5500 rolls by under the watchful eye of one of the station dudes, seen in the doorway. Out of sight on the right was another of the lads. This is single track now; the station is still there but lives on as an Art Gallery, at least it was the last time I was thru those parts. Trains no longer run south along this stretch, it is part of the shared asset track with CN; all trains run N/B here and S/B on the CN. QNSL 205 was acquired by CP; in the next year it became CP 5401.

Arnold, Another of your shots rocks it! Everything about this photo just reminds me of chasing the CPR in those days, depot, train order signal, lashup inc MLW, soon to be 5400, mill gone behind units. Fantastic time machine. Tom Weaver
Thanks, Tom. Around Parry Sound, for me these were the best years. Friendly agent (Jimmie Bell), opportunities to wander, and a lot of traffic.
