These two elevators are a great sight. Built in 1929 on Canadian Northern they were eventually closed in 1989. One was recognized as a Canadian Historical place in 2007.
I lived in St. Albert for 13 years and loved it. My old boss bought a house kitty-corner from where you’re standing. He told me the day after he placed the offer that the realtor assured him that there wouldn’t be any train noise as the line “barely had one train a week”. I took great glee in telling him other wise and that the city was too cheap to pay for lights and gates for the crossing just to the left in the picture and trains had to blow their horns for it!
Nice shot of the trio of SD40-2(W)’s.
