Caption: Quite a few years ago now I was sitting at home in St. Catharines reading the Globe & Mail and there was an article referring to the demolition of the CP Pontypool station, planned for early in the New Year. Like a good scout I put down the paper, grabbed my camera and a coffee and did the 100 or so mile drive up to this little place. Right thru Toronto on a Tuesday morning. Like **** I would do that now. Anyway, this image off the Hwy 35 bridge over the CP line looking east shows the station on the left, the grain elevator on the right, and some trackage under the snow. I understand part of the station lasted at least into the summer of 1977 and the grain elevator....is it still there? I will post a photo just of the station itself later on for those of you enjoy such.

Excellent Central Ontario scene.

Snowy back streets.
It was worth the drive to Pontypool!
