I understood whatever switchers were first in line on engine track either crews used them.
This is what I remember as a kid. Lots of switchers at Oakville. Loved this place.

The engine track was clearly visible along Royal Windsor back in the day so you could see what was sitting there…Not anymore. The lot in front of it is jammed with Trailers. I used to hang out in the Yard master’s office and caught a ride on a 1200 to the ‘South Yard’ along Cornwall St.
You are correct Brad. Whatever power was first up was used by the crew.
Huh; had no idea CP was in that part of town.
I miss end-cab switchers.
