The rear of the C&O St. Thomas roundhouse near Elm St. & Wilson Ave. is pictured, with the crossing of the old L&PS line in the foreground and semaphore signals guarding it. This track lead to the C&O's car shops. One can see the locomotive servicing area off in the background.

Today C&O predecessor CSX doesn't call on St. Thomas anymore, the rails are all gone, and the roundhouse demolished. But, one can still see the outline of where the roundhouse once stood in aerial imagery.

  1. Around when was the roundhouse demolished?

  2. About 1986. Maybe a year or two later.
