Niagara sees very few trains these days. A major reason that I have noticed is the demise of all those locals that we used to see servicing various communities along the line. Most of the towns had diminutive yards and they were serviced with some regularity. Quite a few locals operated out of the now-closed Niagara Falls yard, and this is an example of one. The CN 4594,4595,a pair of GP9s seen here working Merritton, was a regular morning visitor now gone. Also no longer is the station, destroyed by fire in October 1994. Trillium now switches what little business there is at Merritton's yard.
