Oh wow! I didn’t know where was much of a grade there but there’s a noticeable one up the hill to the CN main having to go under the Hagersville sub…good luck with that one. If at first you don’t succeed…
580 set off the hoppers on the Burford Spur next to Brant Foods on Grey Street so they won’t have to worry about the grade up to the Dundas Sub.
Right.. I thought that after I pushed enter. Time for Ingenia to invest in a tonner or if CN could be bothered to head down the spur again.
There are many contract railcar switching companies… I guess it comes down to economics.
So you don’t know what ended up being the solution ??
Ie, did they make 2 trips to Ingenia?
Allied Track Services, Grimsby.
Maybe Arnold could come pull the cars with his Crown Vic ??
This gave me a good laugh
Ahahahah what shall we name Arnolds new company.
Btw all cars gone from Brant foods this morning.
Man, i’m gonna miss seeing actual locomotives on this line. Hopefully they will eventually return
Also what time did they come down? I know it is likely to vary since this is the inaugural run but i’m just wondering. This truck thing seems like a poor idea, that’s what locomotives are for, not Macks
@mercer – I did not see the solution but splitting up the cars would have been the most logical. Mooney’s driving a Ford Flex, even better for hauling hoppers!
@Steve – they took all four hoppers that 580 had set off for them. There has not been a return run yet.
@Aaron – it was around 12:30 when the truck got on the rails at Grey St. When I saw it I didn’t put two and two together until I realised 580 had just set off hoppers and the truck was there to haul them. Funny, Pathetic… so many emotions.
Aaron I hope you were able to shoot the SOR running on this line. You had plenty of time young man If you missed it, better kick your butt into high gear and get to Hamilton, Guelph , Kitchener, etc.. before it’s too late.
I’d also like to see how this thing performs on wet rails.. or in Winter.. what the heck are they going to do come January??? Close the line for 3 months???
Don’t worry Stephen, i saw SOR at least 30 times on the Burford lol, i have videos of it on my Youtube (Thebrantfordrailfan) Including a shot of the Elusive over under at Brant foods. I’m gonna miss it though
This is gonna be interesting to watch unfold, are these just teething troubles or a major problem? I say they are better off with a Rail King or a Tonner
They just need more weight on the drive axle. Load the truck up with junk ties and they’ll be good to go… cough… cough…
Haha. I can imagine the business transaction in this one. “Yep, we can do ‘er”. Oh dear. Get some proper HP or time for Ingenia to re locate
A whole to meaning for “switching to trucks”
Allied is now using a Track Mobile.
Spotted 707 on the Waterloo spur just now
