Caption: The holiday Monday presented me with my first opportunity to get some shots of 580 heading down the Hagersville Sub. Today, they worked Brantford Yard and took eight boxcars over to the appliance place, then came back and grabbed 13 centrebeams and three hoppers for CGC. Unlike SOR, they did not take their time heading down the Hagersville Sub. I did however manage to catch them in Cainsville, Caledonia, and Hagersville. Given my post yesterday was an elevator shot, I am going to stick with that theme. Here, 580 is rolling past the elevators in Hagersville before they run around their train to head to CGC.

Nice Shot John.
What time of day do they leave Brantford?
Make that “James”…sorry
All good! Haha. I think it varies every day depending on what they do. I believe they’re typically ordered for 07:00. Yesterday the crew showed up around 8 and worked the yard then took 8 boxcars to the appliance place. Came back light and hooked onto the CGC traffic then took their lunch. Was around noon by the time they left Brantford.
Correct, it’s all over the board. I’ve seen them leave for the Hagersville at various times throughout the morning. Last Friday they left at 12:30 (although they were likely delayed by 72 and 331).
They left Brantford enroute to CGC at 0830 the day I followed them.
Great catch, question, do you know what the speed is on the hagersville sub?
Mostly 25 mph. 10 mph across the Grand River bridge. Slower (then 25) through Hagersville also.
