Caption: Another small piece of history soon to disappear, the Townline Spur in Thorold, that used to serve Interlake Paper will soon be removed. Saw cuts have been made in the asphalt along the tracks, so it won't be long before the rails are lifted. This short branch line, ex-NS&T, was most recently operated by Trillium Rail until vandals burnt a wood trestle in 2007. The photo shows Trillium 108 (ex CN MLW S-13) in 2002 with several boxcars on its way to Interlake.

A cool shot Tony!
Welcome back Tony! I’ve missed seeing your shots. They’ve already started removing rail, and so far only the stretch in front of the Early Bird is gone
RIP street running.
Now there is a classic!!! Great shot!!!
I used to live across the street from Interlake – which became Kimberly-Clark – and can recall (when the paper mill was really busy) always having to watch for a train on Townline Road. There used to be a small spur line from the paper mill to a little saw mill a little farther south on Front Street.
