Caption: This is a beautiful old station. Too bad CP didn't think so. The town wanted to save it, but because it was built from local limestone and would be very costly to relocate, there just wasn't the money and CP demolished this stately old structure 3 months after I got this photo. This and only three others, Renfrew, Pembroke and Alimonte, were built to a special architectural plan, and now are all lost. The station was constructed around 1899. The railroad was built in 1864. Today there is nothing left, the Ottawa Valley CP route track pulled in 2012.
