The only train I always wanted to see, having chased (or lobbied my parents to chase) since age 12, the Temagami- Dofasco (Hamilton) ore train was the only unit train I knew of in Ontario(grain trains still used the Algonquin Park,- Pembroke- Ottawa Valley lines of both railroads) so this was it. On this days, only 4 units (5 GP40-2's was the norm) 2 SD40's , and 2 Gp40-2's do the honours. When the 5400 series cowls arrived, this train typical got 4 SD40-2's, or, when just delivered, 3 SD60's

  1. Nice set!!! Whenever I saw this train, it had 5 units. Don’t ever recall seeing it with 4.
