Caption: This section of CN's St-Hyacinthe Sub is normally passenger-only, with VIA Rail, Amtrak and RTM passenger trains passing over the Lachine Canal on the way to and from nearby Central Station. However once in a blue moon freight power will pass this way so that they can reverse towards the Victoria Bridge and wye their power and that is the case here. CN 527 arrived in Pointe St-Charles Yard with CN 2401 as the sole power, long hood forward. While waiting for the Pointe St-Charles switcher to arrive from the Port of Montreal with cars for them, they decided to wye their unit so that they could run to Taschereau Yard with the power running short hood forward. Here it is backing up over the Lachine Canal on the way to wyeing the power.
