Photographed on CRHA Niagara's "Longest Day" event in 2016 (a 37 year tradition to go out rail-fanning on the Friday closest to the longest day of the year); we couldn't help but admire the ingenuity of this railfan's method of getting a more interesting photographic angle by using a powered parachute. Train itself was CN 2299 and 2512 followed by a long line of mostly autorack cars.

  1. Flying foam! :)

  2. Arnold Mooney..you are clear to land !

  3. Points – if you can get it on the top of that auto rack

  4. I could see Mr. Mooney getting a shot like that. Lol. The powered parachute is not a bad idea.

I’m sure if it is one of RP’s members, it’ll end up on here. If it is Mr. Mooney, then I will be laughing for days on end.

  5. Thank you – I had a better photo with the parachuter very close to the end of the train, but at the time (of posting this pic) I wasn’t sure if vertical-format photos were allowed, so I chose this one

  6. You guys are crazy!!! You wouldn’t get me up in one of those flying contraptions even if RP was paying me to post here!!! :o )
