Not seen that often is a cowl body unit leading for several miles tail first, as CN 2406 (C40-8cowl), CN 2126 (C40-8), and CN 2296 (ES44dc) enter the west lead to Aldershot Yard at control point CN Snake. They are front end power of train CN 421, returning after delivering tank cars to RaiLink at Stuart St Yard in Hamilton. The man on the back walkway is guiding the engineer in CN 2296 for this reverse move.
After completing a lift from Aldershot Yard and rejoining the train, CN 421 will continue to Port Robinson. Midtrain unit CN 2106 (C40-8) will help move the outbound 720 axle train.

  1. can you find out where 2406 in now. i have a model of it and would love to see in in person.

  2. Sorry I have no access to information about where locomotives are. Whatever I get is the luck of the day. CN 2406 is definitely one of the better looking units in diagonal stripes paint.
