    Hard to believe that these were once the pride of the fleet and one of the most successful locomotives ever built. Good thing there are still hundreds left and operating.

    Was it operational at the time of retirement, and merely phased out of service, or was it really “bunged up” inside?

    Seems like it was phased out, it was stored in Golden BC and I did notice some engine top deck covers and the batteries already removed when it arrived.
