Hi Arnold. Any chance you can identify the two cars behind the units? They look like they might be livestock cars.
I thought they were too, at first glance, because they are where they should be, right behind the power. But I really do not know. Livestock cars were not all that rare back then even though cattle by rail was fading out, so with the cost of slides in mind, I took very few livestock car photos.

Those look to be outside braced wood stock cars. They have probably been in service for many many years. Some of the old equipment has been swept aside maybe a little to casually. Not that I agree they end up in museums but I wish now I had taken a few pictures myself.
Like your photo in Lloydminster, you got several good stock cars in that photo.
