...2816....

... how many ways: class/model, build year, manufacturers, original road build, original road number.... 2004 road number

 H 1 b / GP38-2 / FP9-A / F9B

 1930 – 1986 – 1958 – 1955

 MLW – GMD – GMD - GMD

CPR – CP Rail – CNR – CNR

 2816 – 3084 – 6541 - 6612

 2816 – 3084 – 1401 – 1900

...all this in year 2004....forty four years after CPR dropped all fires on the (operating) CPR steam fleet...

…..what was the likelihood of an original CPR steam to operate on CPR track, by a CPR Crew, endorsed by CPR Management, on a CPR revenue run....

…..what is the likelihood anyone ever see – hear – photograph – witness - such a CPR operational sight ever again.....

…..by 2011 a guy named Bill Ackman ( Pershing Square Capital Management ) had acquired over 12% of the CPR publicly traded voting shares …

...and by 2012 Ackman had arranged for a guy named Harrison Hunter ( of ICR and CNR fame) to be the new Chief Executive.....

….and rest is history ...for better or worse... courtesy Ackman & HH

  1. CPR, bring her back into regular service – NOW! Are you listening? Hello?

  2. Do you want to pay for it PRR? :)

    It costs $$ buddy.

  3. Like CPR is strapped for cash? Yeah, I don’t think so; eh?

  4. While you may be right – the best way to go about this is to write a polite letter to CPR PR and talk about 2816′s ambassadorship of history and how it touched the public in it’s prior visits, and how it benefits the CPR

Convince them to give it another tour of duty.

That’s how I’d go about it.
