CP leased LS&I units from 1965 to 1972 with the exception of winter 1967/68. The first number of years were RS2′s, RS3′s and RSD12′s; the final couple of years were all 5 of their U23C’s, 2300-2304.
1970 was a real good year for leased power, from these to IC C636′s and all manner of other junk.
I have a feeling we’ll see some other dandies from Mr Page’s travels.
I recall seeing the pair of them one day in London, headed on a westbound for Windsor. I was in last year of high school in 1970 & crossed CP tracks every day & twice on some days. I should have carried a camera, because I saw a few trains over the years with ‘odd’ power.
