Sometimes when I had a couple of days off, I just couldn't find decent weather. But it was fun going somewhere anyway. And it certainly is nostalgic looking back. Here is a southbound at Parry Sound CP station, just CP 4509 and 4218 up front, but MLW days are long gone and I fondly remember taking this picture. Yeah, pouring rain, but agent Jimmy Bell was great to talk with and I spent a lot of my time keeping dry in the office while he kept me posted on train movements.

  1. Great work capturing this scene!

  2. By the way, I was only two days old when this was taken :)

  3. Camera too heavy for you? :o )

  4. The rain adds so much texture to this image, real nice!

  5. Thanks, Jacob. Even a ‘crummy day’ shot turns out to be a treat when looked at all those years later. I forget, but if the sun was out this might have been an ‘on the nose’ sun angle. Or worse.
