To handle export grain shipments to the Soviet Union, over the 1963-1964 winter CP leased 23 units from U.S. carriers. This included 7 FA1 and 8 FB1 locomotives from Union Pacific (according to the February 1964 issue of Canadian Rail magazine).

Here we see an A-B-B set of the UP units leading a westbound freight through Guelph Jct. Now that's FPON!
