  1. Damn. Nice catch dude !

  2. It’s greasy I’ll give you that. And the numberboards on the GECX… also greasy. Today’s CN is not for the fan of matching, pretty lashups that’s for sure :)

  3. love that leader! sorry if I bring you down, but I cannot stand those GECX C40-8Ws (both ex UP and CSX), that patch just ruins it all!

  4. Give us more, CN !
Nice grab Joe. And can I remind everyone who sees and/or shoots any of these ” ugly patched ” C40-8′s – - try for a quick, disposable image up close so we can double check the prior numbers; or exam it, if you’re in a position to do so.
Things are about to get much more colourful !

  5. I’m in the same boat as CNSD60F – I always hated leaser units – they are ugly, patched, ruined locomotives, unless of course, they are the classy kind (CEFX/CITX/CREX) in classy paint schemes…. and you can find them in matched pairs or better :)

But the variety is still welcome nonetheless. Let’s be honest, these Dash 8′s are next for the scrappers torch in the next decade..

  6. They don’t buy em or lease them cause they look good together or are pretty for the railfans boys. As long as they can pull, shove, and get the train over the road the company is happy. Of course when I was working I liked the pretty one in the lead too :-)

  7. I’m happy with a zebra in the crowd, even if it is a GE. Being a barn doesn’t hurt either.
