Did you know ex-SP tunnel motor's were leading trains in southern Ontario long before GEXR 9392 showed up ? Well on at least one occasion, CN 271 is seen being lead by SD40T-2 leaser GECX 8664. I'd just shot it trailing on 334 the day before and was shocked to get a phone call the next morning saying it was leading 271 !

  1. Awesome shot Matt! I remember you had a good story to go along with this shot :) too bad this location is so overgrown now, was once a favourite of mine.

  2. Story time. Matt do tell :)

  3. Good Grief !!!!! (That says it all, doesn’t it?)

  4. Sorry Mr Host, from what I recall it’s not really a story to post on the interweb ;)

awmooney I seem to recall saying something similar as it approached, also not appropriate to post.

Marcus That blows… where do you shoot a morning westbound these day ? ….. If there still are any.

  5. Matt, depending time of year you can shoot from the bridge at Garden Ave which would have been right behind you in this shot. Powerline Road is so so. I tend to hit up the junction for morning WB’s if they’re decent.
