I always find it hard visiting St. Thomas considering how busy it once was. I never witnessed it in its former glory but at least when I started visiting St. Thomas most of the lines through town were still intact. Today was a nice surprise as Ontario southland headed St. Thomas bound from Ingersol just as I arrived. Here the train is seen departing the CN yard along the one time main line Cayuga subdivision. It has been years since the parallel service tracks have groaned under the weight of a train. The burnt autumn colours this year seem to be lingering longer in some areas then other years in the past.

  1. As I was saying to Todd S. a few days ago, the OSR is a strong draw to come to Ontario and photo units like this one more time. Probably should make a trip in the next year or two, this can’t last indefinitely. Excellent photo Marcus, it really has me thinking. :-)
