Fantastic! Thanks for posting this.
Thanks Brandon. When you look at how wide that RoW is, you can image just how busy it used to be at one time, all the sidings and industry with locals serving them daily. The hustle and bustle is gone.
Nice one! I was fond of shooting here years ago, but in daylight of course
I don’t mind the location at all, the hospital keeps the area fairly sane. What’s crazy is GO/Metrolinx is going to pay to put the third track back in in the near future..
1997 wasn’t all that long ago… I’d love to see a photo from here 10+ years prior with the Hagersville sub leads (Hamilton Terminal trackage) still in place.. looks like they ripped it up not long earlier.
I didn’t start watching trains in this area until summer 1997, and CN used slug-sets to switch the yard and for yard jobs.
I’m with Stephen on that one. I’d love to see 10 years prior in this view as well as some of the locals being switched along the Grimsby sub in Hamilton in the 90s…if there were any?
You’re a couple of blocks east of the Hagersville Sub / Ferguson Ave lead(s). The remains of the adjacent tracks in Arn’s image would have gone well east of Wentworth, at one time but they weren’t the Hagersville Sub connections. That took place at Mary Street.
Nice one; from back in the days when the Grimsby Sub was just a bit busier ! That magnificent red building was and still is a candy factory. Not all Ham-town industry is dirty.
