Caption: THE RARE MORNING EASTBOUND... It is a beautiful sunny morning in downtown Chatham, where 240 makes it's way along one of the tightest rail corridors with numerous level crossings. Led by CP 8747 and 8717, it is about at the half way mark already having crossed or still blocking (west to east) Bloomfield Road, Keil Drive, Merritt Avenue, Inshes Avenue, Lacroix Street, West Street, Raleigh Street, Jeffrey Street, Queen St., Centre Street and finally Wellington Street in the foreground. Surprisingly, this train still has yet to cross William Street, the King and Adelaide intersection, Colborne and Princess Streets. It will exit Chatham as it crosses Longwoods Road and Prince Albert Drive.

Super looking photo of CP in action. I must say I can feel the summer warmth in this picture. I’ was watching the weather last night and Toronto to Montreal is enjoying high +20° temps. Here in Edmonton, having a hard time getting above 5° the last few days. Even had a skiff of snow on the lawn. Nothing like living in the Arctic LOL .
Thanks 1014! It was a super morning with great daylight…and a treat with an eastbound when it is usually westbounds. Wish there was some foreign power on the front, like a KCS leading the charge. Those fiery colours of their locomotives would really pop in a shot like this! But you’re right. I’m glad I captured this photo of the CP in action. If only they would wash their locomotives more lol
