Now that is some scenery. Any idea how long this train was? Interesting to see it snaking along in the background on the left.
I can’t remember the footage, but as I recall it was a normal size unit train for this part of the country!

Normally the Aberdeen Sub, part of CN’s “Prairie North Line” is a low density route between Edmonton and Saskatoon. There are two daily freights between Saskatoon and North Battleford, plus the occasional grain movement as well as oil traffic. During my visit, CN re routed all eastbound traffic (excluding VIA #2) off of the Wainwright Sub and onto the PNL between Edmonton and Saskatoon. This was done due to a work block on the high density Wainwright Sub. The parade of eastbounds turned the line west of Saskatoon into a parking lot, with crews dying on hours of service. During the two trips I made out to the bridge at Borden, I shot three trains in a span of 4 hours, which normally you would not see on thi ssub.

Excellent work. While I’m not a huge fan of dogs breakfast trains (The IC ex LMS units are amongst my least favourite on CN) this location is just fantastic, a great effort.
