Caption: Time to post a winter scene in the dead of summer. :o) And this was quite the treat for New Year's Day 2014. I am on the platform of the old Smithville TH&B station, now the home of the West Lincoln Historical Society. There was a bit of a wait for this train, and dampness seeped into my bones. But it was worth it. This is certainly different, for the fact it is powered by CSX 9004, 7606 and BNSF 8290 certainly doesn't look like the CP train that it is. And it is actually an empty ethanol train. I had a long wait because I was unaware that CP decided to save a crew and a few dollars, I suppose, by tacking a long cut of containers on the head end at Welland Yard. Solid foreign power lashups are relatively rare on CP, but the recent sighting of UP/FXE power on the Galt sub caused me to dig up this image of a couple of years past.

believe it or not, I was the first one to spot out that 147 at Dixie GO, I gave heads up to a facebook chat and it got posted in a group
And you woke up the whole railfanning community by the looks of it.
Phenomenal! The semaphore adds a lot to this scene.
