Caption: Perhaps this may look like any random photo in the northeastern USA, but, in fact this is on the original North Service track at Aldershot ! Joint Buffalo-Toronto train Penn Central FT-1, nicknamed KINNEAR by TH&B and CPR, is headed east for Toronto on a somewhat mild Wednesday in January. But it's taking him over an hour to move from Hamilton Junction to Burlington East, owing to a malfunction on the main track(s) in between Waterdown Road and King Road. Approaching Waterdown Road, the train was on the South main, then got crossed over and into the North Service, and then back out again onto the North main. My notes do not tell me what the malfunction could have been ( broken rails, damaged equipment, ...whatever). I took this photo just west of the King Road crossing and beside the half-cantilever signal that used to be there, as the 84 car train was moving through the service track.
NOTE - the first and 3rd engine numbers are interchangeable with each other !

Going a step further on the engine numbers. If you take the numbers from each engine and add them up (1+7+3+4=15) they all total 15. Pretty weird and rare to get all 3 engines to tally up like that.
Great example of PC-in-Canada uniqueness, hope you have more.
Too bad the date wasn’t the 4th of January….!
