A Fred Gaines photo. MLW power on both CN and CP was generally assigned well east of Winnipeg. But there were exceptions. CP bought lightweight RS-23’s specifically for some prairie branchlines and based them at Lanigan SK. On July 15/81, Fred Gaines captured 8020-8025-8026 in (Rocket) elephant formation.
