General Motors Diesel open house, September 24, 1983. On display for the public were examples of the plant's production, new and old, locomotives and otherwise. Out front where traffic passing by on Oxford Street could see them, were these 4 engines - CN SD40-2W 5330; GO F40PH 515; TH&B GP7 74; and CP SD40-2 5584(2nd). Except for the GP7, all are brand new. (CP 5584 is a replacement for the first one, wrecked and scrapped). Interesting to note that GO 515 went to Amtrak, became 415 and then went to the Panama Railway renumbered to 1861. But, how could I have known that could happen, as I waited for most of the FOAMERS to move out of my way....??
