Caption: Another trio of fairly new GP30’s has a westbound C&O freight moving towards St. Thomas where some of the cars will go further west to Detroit, and others will go north to Sarnia, Port Huron and beyond. There are some interesting cars in the train today, starting with specialty containers on flatbed trailers right next to the power. I believe this photo was taken at the highway 3 crossing, facing east. The Cayuga Sub would be just out of the picture and you can see at least one of the wooden property line posts placed in the swamp by Canada Southern Railway. Plus the train is coming over a slight rise which is how the right of way looked at this location. Highway 3 near the junction of 56 is in the background.
