Looking east towards the scene of Marcus Stevens' recent 'off the bridge' Aldershot image (#28049); and this shows the beginning changes that he speaketh of. The former maintenance access is now taken up by new track laid in place for the ambitious "Third Track" project at the time,in order to accommodate future GO Transit traffic. A new overhead signal bridge is now in operation. And the late afternoon VIA #75 is moving smartly along behind VIA 6419 and 6421, unlike the old long and majestic passenger trains I remember when first getting in the hobby. Past Marcus' vantage point off the bridge, you can barely see the platforms for Aldershot Station. Ironically enough, there used to be a signal bridge many years ago very close to where this new one is. And the landmark Cold Storage building and its siding is but a memory.
