  3. It’s seasonal traffic to FS Partners, and maybe the odd one here and there for Tampa Hall. The fly ash for LaFarge is done.

  4. When was the last movements out of Lafarge?

    I was lucky to shoot a train here a couple of times – I reckon based on my limited observations it was an evening/night train. I managed to find them in daylight in 2013 or so just coming out of FS partners with a good cut of cars..

    I could be wrong but I think Lafarge was done a few years ago at least. I remember driving by last summer and thinking it’s been a long while since I’ve seen a car spotted there.

    I think I might have got a train on that spur only once or twice since I shot this image in 2007. And before the Foodland grocery store and Tim’s was built there.

  6. Looks like the track that we used to call “Maus” stock pens, later Mitchell Park, is being re-furbished and is seeing some traffic in 2021, not sure what product is that they’re moving. Decades ago, the other track to the ‘pit’ was owned by CP and was used to load ballast into ‘air dumps’ for company projects. The last “Ayr Turn” I worked out of London was about 1980 and the fill was used to widen banks on the Windsor Sub, where the new (then) hotbox detectors were being installed.

  7. There was no grocery store decades ago & when we had to go back to this location at night, it was just about the darkest place on the railway. On a cloudy night, you could hardly see anything just using the old trainman’s lantern.

  8. @RonaldB- Thank you for the information about the spur from the 80′s. Interesting. I can imagine there wasn’t very much out that way then unlike today.
